CORROSION AND MATERIAL PROTECTION TRAINING COURSE

Corrosion is the continuous and gradual consumption of a metallic material due to exposure to aggressive environments (oxygen, aerated water, aqueous solutions, seawater, acids and bases). This phenomenon induces the physical properties of the material to deteriorate.

To prevent damage caused by corrosion, it is essential to know the underlying mechanisms, triggers, and possible corrective measures that can be taken to extend the life of a component under certain operating conditions.

Proton Technology’s Surface Academy® organizes training courses aimed at technicians and engineers employed in various company departments such as research and development, testing, quality, maintenance and service. Courses are held several times a year both online and in-person.

Calendar 2023 update: save the dates!

The next training courses dedicated to corrosion and material protection will be held:

 5, 8, 12 and 15 of May, time 09:00 – 13:00

easily online!

The training course is held by Simon Oberhauser, former CEO of Inncoa GMBH, and Professor at Technische Hochschule, Ingolstadt.

The following main topics will be covered during lessons:

  • Basics of corrosion
  • Corrosion at higher temperatures
  • Corrosion under dynamic and tribological loads
  • Corrosion behavior of important material groups: aluminium, steel, nickel alloys, cipper alloys, stellite
  • Corrosion protection.

The last day of the course will be open to the discussion of practical cases proposed by the participants, an in-depth discussion of the most popular test methods and some practical exercises on corrosion.
